THE 5 STARS
Elementary began a project to help bring back an endangered species today. Professor Munakata of Miyagi Education University came to talk to us about the B-11 subspecies of Medaka that once lived in rice paddies in Sendai. The wild population was wiped out by the tsunami, but Professor Munakata had collected and was raising this kind at his University. Now TIS and volunteer schools and families all over Miyagi are raising these fish and helping to increase the captive population before we release them back into the wild. The project will likely take two years.
Brain Boom: Here is a new riddle! A man wishes to cross the river with a wolf, a goat and some hay (don't ask me why!) He has a small boat, but unfortunately, he can only take one thing across at a time. What is worse, if he leaves the wolf and the goat alone together, the wolf will eat the goat, and if he leaves the goat with the hay, the goat will eat the hay. How does he do it?
